Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Client Reporting app ("the App"), operated by Briar McGregor ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and handles data from Shopify stores that install the App.

What the App Does

The App is an internal reporting tool that pulls store performance data (orders, revenue, average order value, and product metrics) to generate daily dashboards for authorised users. It is not customer-facing and does not interact with store visitors.

Data We Access

When a store installs the App, we request read-only access to:

  • Order data: order totals, tags, line items, shipping country, discount codes, customer type (new vs returning), and financial status. Used to calculate revenue, AOV, product performance, and geographic breakdowns.

  • Product data: product names and variants. Used to show product-level performance in reports.

  • Analytics data: store reports and metrics where available. Used to surface conversion rates.

How We Use the Data

Data is used solely to generate performance reports for the store owner or their authorised marketing team. We do not:

  • Sell, rent, or share store data with third parties

  • Use data for advertising or marketing purposes

  • Store personal customer information beyond what is needed for geographic reporting (shipping country only)

  • Access payment or credit card information

Data Storage and Retention

Report data is stored locally on secure systems controlled by the store owner's marketing team. No data is transmitted to external servers or cloud services beyond the direct Shopify API connection.

Data Protection

All communication with Shopify's API is encrypted via HTTPS. Access tokens are stored securely and are never exposed in reports or logs.

Your Rights

Store owners can uninstall the App at any time (which revokes all data access), request deletion of any stored report data, or request a copy of any data we hold related to their store.

GDPR and International Privacy

We process data as a data processor on behalf of the store owner (the data controller). We comply with applicable data protection laws including the GDPR and New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020.
